After years of enduring Pittsburgh’s inconsistent weather conditions, it was time to remake the Edgewood neighborhood sign! We partnered with The Edgewood Foundation to recreate the off-ramp sign that welcomes hundreds of people into the neighborhood each day.
The original sign was constructed solely from wood, which over the years fell victim to sun-bleaching, rainstorms, and harsh winters. To avoid these symptoms in the future, we constructed the new sign out of metal.

Complete with 4x4 steel posts, a welded support frame, cast iron accent pieces, and a vinyl-wrapped sign board, this new sign is built to withstand any condition thrown at it!
We had the metal powder coated in bold red to stand out against the greenery backdrop behind the sign, but to also protect it from the weather.
To install the sign, we worked with our friends at Techno Metal Post of Pittsburgh. They installed their helical pile system six feet into the ground, which allowed us to directly bolt the Edgewood sign to their galvanized mounting brackets for a quick and seamless install. It was a great experience to work with the Edgewood Foundation on this sign and get to be a part of this neighborhood for years to come!
