The Same, but Different

Our clients loved the function and routine of their kitchen but wanted to give it a fresh look and solve a few hidden inefficiencies. Crafted from maple plywood and poplar hardwood, our team built new shaker-style cabinets to fit seamlessly into the existing space, while also engineering solutions to improve flow and functionality.

One of the biggest challenges was the corner sink. The original countertop was cut at a 45° angle, which forced the sink bowl to be small and awkwardly placed. We designed a curved cabinet door, which allowed the sink to be pushed back, creating room for a larger, more practical sink bowl and a better overall layout.
The new appliances also posed unique challenges. Both the oven and refrigerator had French doors, which required additional clearance. Rather than waste that space, we designed a five-inch-wide cabinet with a push-to-open pullout, adding hidden storage while still allowing the appliances to function fully.

Other custom features included:
Hidden spice pullouts flanking the glass door cabinet
A pullout above the refrigerator for accessible storage
A decorative bulkhead for a clean finish to the cabinet tops
A custom electrical access panel beside the fridge
Island cabinetry perfectly sized to the existing countertop
Handcrafted corbels to complete the look
The result is a kitchen that feels both familiar and new — the same, but different. By blending custom craftsmanship with thoughtful problem-solving, the Eisenwood team created a space that will serve our clients beautifully for years to come.
