The Ultimate Man Cave

What better way to relax after doing maintenance on your car collection than with a fresh drink surrounded by your family crests carved into a custom bar? Our client wanted to finish off his garage with a personalized bar in an elegant and rich mahogany, showcasing the natural wood grain in a Victorian furniture style to evoke his Scottish heritage.
The grand back bar portion stands nearly ten feet tall to immediately draw your eye to this extraordinary example of woodworking. It contains a work area, framed with two stained glass door cabinets joined with intricately carved brackets, overhanging an additional three cabinets for storage. Adjacent to this set up is a display shelf, centered around a back-lit stained-glass piece, and capped on either end with fluted columns topped with rosettes.

This entire section is tied together with a completely personalized bulkhead, which contains custom carvings of our client’s three family crests surrounded by the Scottish flag: a true statement of honor to his heritage and life.

The front bar, however, is the true showstopper, containing 26 custom carved panels and corbels, all contributing to the overarching theme of the project. Each piece is made out of solid mahogany and was carved with extreme precision utilizing our in-house CNC router. The rich stain applied to the unit gives it an aged and robust look, further complimenting its remarkable appearance.
Complete with a bar sink, three cabinets for storage, and an exquisite bar rail, this unit stands striking in our client’s garage to complete the ultimate man cave.
This build was too amazing to confine to just the garage, so, we built our client a matching bar for his house. Emulating the same style, this bar contains a cabinet and drawers for storage, with a cavity included for a mini fridge.

The solid mahogany top adds a refined shape to this piece, including a subtle protruding curve that houses a sophisticated black bar sink.
But the top portion is what really makes this piece shine. The shape of the bulkhead matches the curve of the countertop and holds a piece of stained glass that operates as the main lighting source for the bar. It gives the perfect moody lighting to accentuate the glass shelves and carved patterns that decorate the back panel of the bar.
Additionally, the bulkhead is supported by smooth columns with elegant capitals to perfectly connect the top and bottom into one harmonious piece.
And to make this build truly special to our client, we included a personal Latin inscription on the arched frame of the back. Though this project is a marvelous one, it's true reward is seeing someone's story come to life through our work.
