While this elegant piece of furniture may just look like a cabinet to the untrained eye, it actually contains a cool hidden feature! Our client presented us with a unique challenge of building a custom furniture piece, with the ability for a television to rise out of the cabinet at the push of a button. It was essential for us to focus on the function and mechanics of this build, but the exterior needed to look the part too as it would be placed in the center of the room, viewable from all sides!
This cabinet is crafted from mahogany wood and stained to a deep brown-red color with a sleek satin finish, meshing beautifully with the existing home. The panels in the doors are all book matched to create a perfect symmetrical look with sophisticated beaded trim details. Not only was it made to be symmetrical left to right, but the back is a mirror image of the front! This meant a total of 10 book matched panels were needed to make this piece presentable from every angle.
Now, what's not seen is the motorized arm inside of the unit that is holding the television. Once the mechanism is switched on, the compartment lid is opened, and the TV is able to steadily rise from the cabinet for viewing.
Something that is both a beautiful addition to the home and also an exciting conversation piece, the Eisenwood team was able to create a chic and concealed way to store our client's television through innovative engineering and thoughtful design.
